Hao Hao Market started with a straightforward frustration: why is it so hard to find a school bag that actually lasts? Our founder, Lim Beng Huat, spent years watching his own children burn through bags that promised durability but delivered disappointment. Zippers split by term two. Straps fraying by mid-year. Water bottles that leaked the moment they were tilted. He knew the problem wasn’t unique to his family — most Malaysian parents were dealing with the same cycle of buying and replacing, year after year. So in 2023, Hao Hao Market was born. The name comes from the Mandarin expression for “very good” — a simple standard, but one we take seriously in everything we do. We spent months sourcing materials, testing samples, and refusing to list anything that didn’t genuinely impress us. The first batch sold out within weeks, largely by word of mouth among parents in Johor Bahru. That early trust pushed us to grow. Today we carry a curated range of school bags, backpacks, and water bottles for children from kindy age all the way through secondary school. Each product goes through our own internal checklist: material durability, zipper quality, water resistance, ergonomic fit, and design appeal. If it doesn’t pass, it doesn’t go on the site — simple as that. We’re also a small team, and we like it that way. It means every order gets real attention and every customer question gets a real answer. We’re not trying to be the biggest school bag retailer in Malaysia. We’re trying to be the one parents trust most. That’s a goal worth showing up for every day.
